Apple's iPhone has done tremendous improvements in Smartphone technology. The new version of iPhone is iPhone4 which is going to be launched in India in next month. Some of the visitors of this blog has suggested me to put some view on iPhone4 before its launch in India. So, I am now writing prelaunch view on iPhone 4.
Design
Just 9.3mm thick sleek design is packed with all features available today in Smartphone technology. The frame consist of Stainless Steel Band around the two glossy glass panels . Stainless steel band is made up of alloy component which is 5 times stronger than standard steel. This band also works as an antennas. The two glossy glass are too strong and scratch free as it is built with aluminosilicate. This type of glass is used in the windshield of helicopters and bullet trains. You can choose from one of six colors - white, black, blue, green, orange, or pink provided by Apple as bumpers which covers the metallic frame.
Display
iPhone's retina display consists of 960*640 pixels in 3.5" display screen giving you 326 pixels per inch makes it the highest-resolution phone screen ever. The human eye can’t distinguish individual pixels as it is just 78 mm across. In result text is amazingly crisp and images are stunningly sharp. Samsung booms smartphone market with the launch of Samsung GALAXY S. Galaxy S has an eye catching features which puts it in the race of high end smartphone like iPhone 4 . As Android mobile Operating System getting stronger in smartphone segment, Samsung Galaxy S has taken Android 2.1 (Eclair) as its base feature. Next to Samsung Wave, Galaxy adopted Super AMOLED display to give much vibrant display with 4-inches (800 x 480 resolution) wide capacitive touch screen .
For the higher acceleration it is built with Samsung's own 1GHz Hummingbird processor, paired with 8GB (or 16GB, depending on version) of internal storage. 32GB expandable microSD slot ads up to the total memory storage. Like the Samsung Wave, the micro-USB port on the Galaxy S has a sliding cover that gives protection against the dust. Connectivity includes Triband GSM, EDGE & 3G Band 900/1900/2100 HSDPA/HSUPA along with WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0. There is also GPS, an accelerometer, digital compass, and both proximity and light sensors.
Social networking tools are very attractive for those who want to be connected through social networking. The Galaxy S has Samsung’s Social Hub, a combined stream of Facebook, MySpace and Twitter messages – complete with a desktop widget and the ability to send out an update to one or all services simultaneously – Samsung here provides one more application of “Mini Diary” that allows you to easily create journal entries complete with photos, stored weather information, text notes and more.
Coming to the Video part, Galaxy S equipped with two powerful 5 megapixel cameras on front and rear panel makes it truly 3G enabled mobile phone. Voice calls are clear and loud, and the speakerphone is suitably booming. But on downside it has no flash light to compromise low light. To overcome this, Samsung provided software specially to cope with low visibility for some extent. Various photography modes, including blink, face and smile detection, panorama and high-speed shooting, ads up to the good video shooting. There are also multiple effects, such as vintage and cartoon, and a high-visibility mode which boosts the User Interface so that it’s easier to see while outdoors. Video recording can be done in one of five resolutions from 320 x 240 to 1280 x 720 (720p HD).
Video playback supports MPEG4, H.263, H.264, DivX, XviD, WMV, AVI, 3GP & Flash Video. On audio side, audio output is very clear and reasonably loud, additionally it is bundled with earbuds to give optimum performance in music playback. Phone also equipped with FM Radio.
